The Grayson Central Appraisal District Project transformed a vacant retail building within the historic central business district of Sherman into offices for an important government entity. Because the budget was very limited, the existing pre-engineered building structure, exterior metal wall panels, and as many interior walls as possible were retained. The Travis Street façade was renovated with new lightweight materials and new landscaping. On the interior, a unique and varied colors and materials palette seems more like a hospitality environment than a government office.
